CA Inter Registration

The applications for the CA Inter registrationare now being accepted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). However, ICAI offers registration for the CA Intermediate Exam all year long. So, candidates who have passed the CA Foundation exam are eligible for the next step, which is the CA Intermediate. They can get themselves registered for the November 2023 session by March 1, 2023.

CA Intermediate exam is held twice a year, in May and November. It consists of two groups; candidates can either give a single group or both groups in one attempt, depending on their preparation.

If you intend to take this exam, you must complete the CA Intermediate registration form on the official ICAI website.

What Is the Last Date for CA Intermediate Registration?

The last date for CA Intermediate registration is March 1, 2023, for the November session, and for the May 2023 exam, ICAI has already closed registration in November 2022.

The following are the steps to get yourself registered for the session of November 2023:

  1. Go to https://eservices.icai.org or the ICAI website and click on the Self-Service Portal. If you want to access the self-service portal, enter your login credentials.
  2. After the authentication, click on the link provided to access the Student SSP Portal.
  3. Select the student cycle.
  4. Students taking the foundation route must select Intermediate through Foundation. However, using the direct entry method, students can select Intermediate.
  5. Students using the direct entry route must then fill out their personal information. However, the CA Foundation student’s personal information will be filled out automatically. Verify the information, then click on Save and Next.
  6. You must then enter your qualification information and upload all necessary documents, then select Save and Continue.
  7. The next step is to upload a recent passport-size photo and a scanned signature. The image size must not exceed 100 KB.
  8. Then select Generate OTP. The OTP will be sent to the registered number you provided, or the ICAI will send a verification link to the email address you have provided.
  9. Click the Submitbutton after entering the OTP and the captcha code.
  10.  The last step is to make the payment for CA Inter registration fees, after which the application will be submitted.

What Are the Fees for CA Intermediate Registration 2023?

In order to take the CA Intermediate exam, the candidates have to make the payment as mentioned by ICAI.

Note: The registration fee for foreign students is $1000 for both groups and $600 for a single group.

Furthermore, the candidates who are applying through the direct route need to pay an additional amount of Rs. 200 for the foundation prospectus.

How to Register for CA Intermediate (Direct Entry)

In order to be eligible for direct entry to CA Intermediate, which is also one of the ways one can skip the CA Foundation exam, t the candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Graduate or postgraduate students in the field of commerce should have received at least a 55% grade, while those in other fields should have received at least a 60% grade.

  • Candidates must have passed the intermediate levels of both the Indian Institute of Cost Accounting and the Indian Institute of Company Secretaries.

The following are the steps to register for CA direct entry:

  1. Visit the ICAI website directly or click on the link  https://eservices.icai.org.
  2. After that, register by clicking the first-time user.
  3. Fill out all the necessary information, then click Generate OTP.  Login information will be sent on the email ID or mobile number provided by the candidate.
  4. After logging in, select the Students function on the ICAI portal, then click the button to use the direct entry application process to apply for the Intermediate level.
  5. After that, upload all the necessary documents and pay the mentioned fees.
  6. Before enrolling in the 15-day practical training, direct entry students must first register for the Information Technology Training (ITT) and Orientation Program (OP) training programs.
  7. The price for the ITT program is Rs. 6,500, which includes all required reading materials and tea or other refreshments from the ICAI.
  8. Additionally, all needed reading materials and tea/refreshments from the ICAI are included in the cost of the OP, which is Rs 7,000.

Documents Required for CA Intermediate Registration

When submitting the registration form for the CA Inter exams, candidates must include all necessary scanned documents.

The following is the list of important documents that the candidates must upload and should be self-attested:

  1. Marksheet of class 12th or its equivalent examination recognized by the central government.
  2. For students enrolled in the direct entry program, an attested copy of their graduation/post-graduation or mark statement from the intermediate-level Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)  or (Institute of Cost Accountants of India(ICWAI) examination is required.
  3. Each applicant must submit a recent color photograph.
  4. Authenticated copy of a special category certificate for SC/ST, OBC, or the disabled.
  5. If the student is a foreign national, an attested copy of the proof of nationality.

1. When can I register for CA Inter 2023?

The registration for CA Intermediate May 2023 has already been closed as of  September 1, 2022. The Institute will release the CA Intermediate test application form for the May session on February 3, 2023. The final day to submit the CA Inter exam form without incurring late fees is February 24, 2023. However, the last date for registration for the CA Intermediate November 2023 is 1st March 2023.

2. What is the validity of the CA Inter registration form?

The validity of registration for the CA Intermediate course is four years. If the validity of registration has come to an end, it can be renewed for another four years by paying a fee of Rs.400. 

3. How many attempts CA Inter?

As CA Inter registration is valid for four years, the candidate can make eight attempts ( two each year).

4. What is the deadline for CA direct entry registration in 2023?

The last date for registration of CA direct entry is January 31, 2023, for the November 2023 exam, and  July 31, 2023, for the May 2024 exam. A candidate is eligible to give CA Intermediate after completing nine months of practical training.
