CA Subject List

CA is one of the most famous professional courses in India, which lakhs of people pursue every year. It should be noted that the CA syllabus is quite vast, it is like a sea. Therefore, the aspirants have to study really hard to earn the prefix CA before their respective names. How Many Subjects Are There in CA? 

The CA course consists of three levels such as CA foundation, CA intermediate, and CA final.

The candidate has to clear all three levels in order to become a Chartered Accountant, the following is the list of subjects that comes under the three levels:

CA Syllabus After Graduation

The CA syllabus after graduation is the same as the syllabus after a student passes the CA Foundation exam, which means the student has to take the CA Intermediate exam and CA final exam.

One can pursue CA even after graduation or post-graduation but there are eligibility criteria mentioned by the ICAI. The following are the eligibility criteria:

  • A commerce graduate should have obtained a minimum of 55% marks during graduation or post-graduation 
  • A non-commerce graduate should have obtained a minimum of 60% in their graduation or post-graduation.

  • A candidate must have passed the CS executive exam conducted by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India or the Cost And Works Accountancy (CWA) intermediate exams conducted by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.

After graduation, the cost to pursue a CA degree ranges from Rs.19,000 to 27,000 which includes registration costs, article registration costs, orientation course costs, and the cost of an information technology course.

If candidates pursue CA after graduation or post-graduation, they come under the direct entry scheme, which was introduced specially for the people who wanted to directly give CA Intermediate after graduation/post-graduation.

CA Course How Many Years

The CA course takes a minimum of 4.5 years. It is designed in such a manner that there is no age limit to obtain the certification, but they can only give the first level of examination after completing the 12th standard and students who have obtained a minimum of 50% in the 12th standard are eligible to give the CA Foundation exam.

Then, the students who have passed CA Foundation are eligible for the CA Intermediate exam, and the candidates through direct entry are also eligible for the second level.

The CA Final eligibility criteria are that candidates should have completed at least 2.5 years of practical training, and during the last six months, they can take CA Final exams and then complete the pending months as the candidate has to complete 3 years of articleship in order to become a CA.

That’s how a CA course is divided into a 4.5 years time span.
